Mechanical Engineering is one of the primitive branches of Engineering have wide application in other engineering fields, and therefore, have remained always in demand and continue to be in the future. The proposed mechanical engineering program is designed to meet the needs of the 21st century industry covering design & developments, production & manufacturing, repair & maintenance, etc. As the Industrial sector has drastically risen in pace, the need for more mechanical engineers has increased exponentially.

Every manufacturing and production industry needs mechanical engineers to carry out jobs efficiently and flawlessly for their operations. The course offered would be one of the fascinating studies – from basic & fundamentals to design & adaptability along with understanding of linkages with the associated wider aspects of emerging engineering areas of technology & applications.

About

The Mechanical Engineering Department of ITM, Meerut has a reputation of being among the finest in the state and is dedicated towards the advancement of technology and science. The department was established in 2007 with the objective to impart quality education in the core field of Mechanical Engineering. The Department offers eight-semester Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) course with an annual intake of sixty. The program is a 4-year (eight semesters) full time approved by the AICTE and HRD ministry of the country.

Mechanical Engineering Department in the past, several events including International conferences, National conferences, industrial visits, Seminars and Workshops related to various areas of Mechanical Engineering have been organized and similar events are planned to be organized in future too.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Institute of Engineering And Technology, Meerut is to provide students with a sound mechanical engineering education, enhance the understanding and application of mechanical engineering principles, for techno economical development of the country, and improve the quality of life of our citizens through teaching, research, and outreach programs. The mission is further to provide an environment where students have extensive avenues to excel, improve technical exposure and develop personality and then get placed in PSUs, MNCs and reputed companies with good future so that students have global presence, in various roles and responsibilities. . With excellent teaching and learning environment it provides a platform to instill high motivation, moral values and leadership in its students.

Eligibility

Minimum 60% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th)
Minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (12th)
Non Examination Pathway – admissions through Board Merit / JEE Mains Score (Up to 20% of Seats)
For Board Merit : Minimum 80% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th) and minimum
80% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (12th class)
For JEE Mains Merit : Minimum 60% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th) and
minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (12th class).JEE
Mains cut off for applying for a UPES B.Tech program is 105

Unique laboratories for CAD/CAM lab, Metrology, RAC, Fluid Machinery lab, Fluid Mechanics TOM Lab etc. which are important for mechanical engineering education.
